Which one...?

I'm finally watching North and South as my best friend commanded suggested, and I love it! However, I found this on pinterest, and as a big fan of period dramas, I thought it was very evil. XD
^ I said ^
Here are some gifs to make it a little easier. (Note my sarcasm.)

Darcy or Thornton? I want to know; let the debate begin in the comments below.

    1. Omg okay so you have to see it like right now if you can because it's totes awesome and you will love Richard Armitage more than ever and you will love Elizabeth Gaskell more than ever because she wrote the novel it was based off of and just go watch it now!!!! JK, but that's kind of how I feel about it. It's about this girl, Margret Hale who moves from the sunny south of England to the industrial, cold north of England, where she meets the owner of a mill there, John Thornton and they start off on the wrong foot, of course. There's a lot of political conflict and the whole time you're wanting them to be together, and it's just awesome.... I have yet to see the last episode though... I've been thinking about it all day. XD Sorry for the incredibly long and fangirling reply.

    1. IKR!? I love Mr. Thornton too. I think I might like him a little better than Darcy, but Darcy is so awesome too, so it's painful to decide. I'll have to see the last episode of North and South to decide...

  4. Ooo, this is a good question!

Both shows are amazing, and both gentlemen are incredible, but I have to say Mr. Darcy (Colin Firth version). I think Darcy wins just because he's so kind (once you get to know him). Mr. Thornton is fabulous, though.

Richard Armitage is such a great actor, isn't he?

    2. AHHHHHHH!!!! *gives you a giant hug* You can't imagine the extent of my happiness at discovering this incredible fact! Actually, you probably can since you're a fan too... My day just went from good to epic. I can't wait to waste all of my study time watching this web series. XD
Yes, Darcy is awesome, and really nice. I have such a hard time picking favorites. Richard Armitage though... He's just incredible. And he makes the best possible John Thornton.

    1. I'm really looking forward to finishing North and South so that I can fully compare these two awesome characters, but I think that Thornton may just be coming out on top. Yes, Richard is awesome! <3... Isn't it so hard thought?!

  6. Here's a little confession: I've never ever understood why girls think Mr. Darcy is so fantastic... I've never been much attracted to him, in any version (but I still adore P&P with a passion!). But when I saw North and South (amazing period drama, btw, one of my absolute favorites #approved) Mr. Thornton stole my heart! I should totally go and watch it again today... Yep, it's a plan!

    1. I just finished North and South, and I've got to say that Mr. Thornton stole my heart too. XD I love Pride and Prejudice too, and I love Mr. Darcy, but I feel that Thornton is a more developed character, and once you get to know him, he's so nice. And besides, he's played by Richard Armitage who is also kinda' incredible... (-;

  7. I want to choose, but I honestly haven't watched North and South yet (once it is Spring Break where I live, I will most likely watch it then)... so for now I will have to choose Mr. Darcy.

    1. Mr. Darcy is great, and if you loved Pride and Prejudice, you will love North and South! It's seriously my new favorite movie (besides LOTR of course)
Thanks so much for commenting, Morning!

  8. I watched North and South a long time ago and didn't like it very much, but only because I didn't like period dramas when I was little (-er). *hides in shame* But those pictures made me remember it suddenly...and now I want to go dig it up and watch it again. :)

    1. Don't worry, I completely understand! Period dramas are kind of an aquired taste, just like coffee was for me. (-; I think that you would really appreciate North and South now. Mr. Thornton is so awesome, Margret Hale (the MC) is a really strong and interesting character. I hope to read the book soon!

    2. Yes, exactly, it's an acquired taste. ...And I think I'm acquiring it. ;) I watched the first half of N&S last night and enjoyed it very much. 'Appreciate' is just the right word too, that's what the difference was for me with liking or disliking it, but so far I like it it muchly. :) haha Just like coffee, yes. I still don't quite like coffee but I'm beginning too...there are times....

I was just thinking about the book last night, wondering how similar it is to the BBC adaption and all, if it would be worth reading.... :)

  9. MR DARCY ALL THE WAY.

    Ahem.

I do love North and South, but I personally think Mr Thornton is a little... well, scowly. Mr Darcy is also like that, but he seems far more gentle and romantic and sweet. No, Mr Darcy for me thanks!

    But what about you? :-P

    1. Phew! I was feeling a little sorry for Mr Darcy there, because everyone was voting Thornton, (including my self) and Darcy's such a great guy. I totally understand why you chose Darcy, he's much more quiet and gentlemanly. I think I chose Thornton because in North and South you get to see more of his character and feelings than you get to see Darcy's feelings in P&P, and I tend to really like people with rough exteriors and soft interiors like Thornton. And he's rather romantic in his own way. (-; Goodness, I'm rambling again...
Thanks for the lovely comment, I love your blog, and I'm honored that you stopped by.

  10. New reader alert! So glad I found your sweet blog space-- I love period dramas <3 And that first one is definetly evil, haha! I absolutely love the North and South, it's a masterpiece, truly. But to have to choose between Darcy and Tornton? Gosh... is it possible? x) I would probably *have* to go with Darcy. I'm too loyal a fan of P&P

    1. Hey Katie, thanks so much for the follow and the kind comment! I'm following your gorgeous blog now, and I'm so glad I am.
Isn't it though? Darcy is a great guy, and I feel almost like a traitor to the P&P fandom to chose Thornton, but Darcy comes in a close second for me. (-; Besides, I kind of think that Richard Armitage did an amazing job as Thornton. It was a hard choice still...
