Goodbye for now...

Guys, the reason I stopped doing the MEMM was because things got really crazy here with school, sports, music, our family's business, etc... I probably won't be blogging for a bit. Atleast not till spring break. (I can't wait!) Sorry if my posts are inconsistent for a while. I'm sure any of you who are are in school right now understand. My desk always looks somewhat like this:

I'll miss you guys, and I'm sorry too if I don't comment on all of your blogs as often. I promise I will try to read as often as I can, it's just I haven't even had any time to work on my novel for the past two weeks, it's been that crazy. :-/ I'd better get to work on my French and English now.
   Until later,

MEMM Days 5, 6, and 7

Yes, I haven't posted for a couple of days, but believe me, I have good reasons. First reason: School. Second reason: School. Third reason: yeah, you get it...
So, without further ado, I'm going to do the answers for these past few days.

Day 05 - Favorite soundtrack
Oh, torture!!! Okay, so I have quite a few favorites, but I think that my favorite it the song from the end credits of BOTFA. Yes, "The Last Goodbye." I've lost track of how many times I've listened to it since the music video came out.

Day 06 - Favorite moment/line in The Two Towers
*Squirms, unable to make up her mind*
I think that Gimli and Legolas had some pretty epic moments in this movie especially. One of my favorites was when Gimli can't see over the wall and... Maybe it would be better if I just gave you the link to the scene instead of discribing it poorly.

Day 07 - Lines you quote most often in real life
Hmm... *opens a huge book* Just kidding. I don't make a lot of LOTR references in real life, mainly because my family wouldn't get most of them, but sometimes I will use these.
Bilbo's face...

  • Pippin: "What about second breakfast?"
  • Gandalf:  "What do you mean? Do you mean to wish me a good morning, or do you mean it is a good morning whether I want it or not? Or perhaps you mean to say that you feel good on this particular morning. Or are you simply stating that this is a morning to be good on?
  • Gollum: "What's taters, precious? What's taters, eh?" (I quote Gollum a lot)
  • Gimli: "Certainty of death, small chance of success - what are we waiting for?
  • And many others...
Tell me your answers in the comments below.

MEMM Day 4: Favorite Sword

There are so many epic swords in Middle Earth, and as much as I am fond of Sting and Orcrist, I think that the most epic and important sword was Anduril, Aragorn's sword. It has an entire history of it's own, and it was in some of Middle Earth's most famous battles.

“The Sword of Elendil was forged anew by Elvish smiths, and on its blade was traced a device of seven stars set between the crescent Moon and rayed Sun, and about them was written many runes; for Aragorn son of Arathorn was going to war upon the marches of Mordor. Very bright was that sword when it was made whole again; the light of the sun shone redly in it, and the light of the moon shone cold, its edge was hard and keen. And Aragorn gave it a new name and called it Andúril, Flame of the West.”

MEMM Day 3: Favorite Location

   Middle Earth Movies Meme
Sorry I'm so late in posting this. My internet was being weird all day, but it's fixed now, thank goodness!
Favorite Location: This is soooooo hard. I have never been able to answer this one, so I'm going to go with one of my many favorites.

I feel like Rohan would have been a great place to grow up in. You'd learn how to ride a horse at an early age and if you were like Eowyn, you'd learn how to use a sword! Besides Edoras is so beautiful! It was one of the most 'real' feeling places in the films, and it kind of reminds me of the ancient Norse stories, like Beowulf.

Middle Earth Movies Meme: Day 1 (and 2)

I just found out that Hamlette at Hamlette's Soliloquy is doing this Middle Earth Movies Meme Lineup, and it looked like so much fun, that I decided I had to do it. Practically, it's a list of 28 questions about all six of the Middle Earth movies. I was supposed to start yesterday, as that was the 1st of February. (Guys, it's February already! How did that happen.) I guess I'll just start today and do yesterday and today's questions. This is going to be so much fun!

Question 1: Favorite moment/line in The Fellowship of the Ring?
I've got to say, this was harder than I had expected. I have so many favorites! I decided to go with the one that I need to remind myself of on a daily basis.
Frodo: I wish the ring had never come to me. I with none of this had happened.
Gandalf: So do all who live to see such times. but that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us. There are other forces at work in this world Frodo, besides the will of evil. Bilbo was meant to find the Ring. In which case, you were also meant to have it. And that is an encouraging thought.
Question 2: Favorite characters from each race?
*Breathes deeply.* Why does this have to be so hard?! Okay, here goes:
Men: Eowyn (ironically, she's not a man)

Hobbits: Sam
This hobbit seriously deserves more recognition. He saved Frodo's life several times, therefore saving Middle Earth. And he was the only one who accompanied Frodo all the way to Mount Doom. This guy is my hero.

Dwarves: Can I have two favorites? Thorin and Gimli? No? Okay, we'll go with Gimli because he's so funny, and he and Legolas make an epic team.

Elves: Legolas/Thranduil (They're father and son, so it definitely counts)

Maia: (This is totally a race) Gandalf

Who are your favorite characters and what is your favorite moment in The Fellowship of the Ring?
