I'm Back!

Hello guys, I'm back again. I know I've been gone forever, but I had finals week, and that takes a lot of preparation and time and... well, I guess I was just a little too overwhelmed at the time to blog.  I'm glad to be back though! I missed getting e-mail notifications saying that so-and-so left a lovely comment on my latest post and I missed my conversations with you all. As it's been such a long time, I thought I'd give you guys a little update of what I've been up to these past few weeks.
I don't know why there's a picture of
a wave, it's just for pretty, ok?
What I'm Reading:
While I have not gone to the beach to spend my summer vacation, I did go to the library yesterday and pick out some lovely books.  So pretty close, though not quite. I'm reading Cress right now and the other four books that I picked out are:
The Sea of Monsters by Rick Riordan
Insurgent by Veronica Roth
Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs
Splintered by A. G. Howard
Yeah, I know I'm incredibly behind on all of these books... But I'm reading them now, and that's all that matters. However, I have a delima. I've heard so many good things about all of these books that I don't know where to start. Comment below as to which one you think I should read next.
The French have such a beautiful cover
for Cress!
What I'm Watching:
I've been watching Once Upon a Time every weekend, and I'm especially anxious as to the last episode for the season! But more importantly, I just started watching this show that someone recommended to me ages ago. GUYS  I'M WATCHING MERLIN!!! Okay, I'll try to go easy on the caps locks, but seriously, how did I not know this show was so good? How was I not even watching it and fangirling about it before? If you're a fan of Merlin, just tell me in the comments below so that we can fangirl over this awesome show together. But no spoilers past season 1 because I'm currently in season 2. (-: I should really start a Merlin Pinterest board... Which reminds me, I got Pinterest this month, and I love it so much!

ohmygawshIlovethemsomuch!!!

What I'm Listening To:
I just started listening to Mumford and Son's new album, "Wilder Mind' and Il Volo's new album "Grande Amore". They're totally different styles of music, but I love both. I have a very varied taste in music which is apparent when looking at my collections of songs on Spotify. I've got everything from Fall Out Boys, to Katherine Jenkins, to the Les Miserables and Wicked soundtracks. What have you guys been listening too lately? Any suggestions?
My excuse for all the music I listen to.

Other Random Stuff I've Been Up To:
I finished my first full time semester at my community college and I'm getting ready for my even busier next semester. The exciting thing is that I'll be taking my first creative writing class, hopefully, and I'm going to get to do some fun service projects as V.P. of Service for Phi Theta Kappa.  I'm also starting a local creative writing club in my town this June. I literally have no idea what I'm doing, and I'm freaking out, but I'm super excited! If you have ANY advice for someone starting a club for the first time ever, please tell me and I will willingly accept it. (In fact, I'm begging for it.)

And can I just say again, I missed you guys a lot!  I should be posting regularly this summer, so I shouldn't disappear for a while now. (-:

xoxo,
   Lizzy

  1. MERLIN YES YES YES YES YES. YES. MHMMM. YES. We watched the series as a family, and today were just talking about how much we miss him. And Ransom Riggs is an awesome writer, can't wait to hear what you think. LOVE Mumford's latest album as well, pure gold. I've been listening to a lot of country lately per usual, but my latest discovery has been Eric Hutchinson. He's amazing. Yay for Pinterest, going to follow you right now! Missed you too, looking forward to more brilliant blog posts (=

    1. I'm loving Merlin right now! I've had to confine myself to watching it while I jog on the treadmill, otherwise I would be watching three episodes a day instead of just one. XD I've heard of Eric Hutchinson before, I should really check out his music. (-: And thanks so much for the sweet comment. (-:

  2. That Cress cover is so beautiful!
The type of music you like to listen to has as much variety as my music list. Let's just say I like Chicago, Beethoven, Tim McGraw, Sarah Brightman, and who knows how many musicals. :)
I think that consistency is very good to have in a club. I have never started a club, so I can't say from experience if it is a good tip or not.

    1. Isn't it gorgeous? I think I owe some of my music tastes to you (-: I think it was you who introduced me to Kathrine Jenkins. Thanks, that's a great tip! You know how inconsistent I am, so that is definitely something I will work on. (-: Miss you!

  3. I've missed your blog. :) Glad your back, I need to read the Lunar Chronicles. I am a Once fan and a Merlin fan, I shall not spoil anything for you though ;) I have been listening to 'Twenty one Pilots' a lot lately and I really like them.

    1. Aww, thanks, it's good to be back and blogging again. You would love the Luner Chronicles! *high five* If I may say so, you have great taste in TV shows. XD I'll definitely go check out Twenty-one Pilots. I've never heard of them before, but I love discovering new music.

  4. WELCOME TO PINTEREST THOSE WHO ENTER CAN NEVER LEAVE (now say goodbye to all your free time and social life).

Seriously though, we missed you. Sounds like you've got a lovely summer plan. I'm opting for books over beaches as well. I've never read any of those books but I've been considering quite a few of them, so I'm curious to hear what you think about them.

IL VOLO is my jam. I discovered them a while back when someone told me that the best way to learn a language is to listen to music. So I've been having a blast listening and attempting to translate Il Volo songs from Italian to English.

    1. I have long ago rejected my social life, but Pinterest is such a black hole that I've become even more of a hermit. XD
Aww, you're so sweet. I've missed blogging too. The Lunar Chronicles are great and I think you'd really like the Percy Jackson series. It's got a lot of adventure and humor. (-:
You like Il Volo too?!!! *jumps up and down* It is rarely that I meet someone who loves Il Volo too. I've been a fan for a couple of years, and though I don't know any Italian, I can sing along to most of their songs. Who know's what I'm singing, or if I'm even singing it right... XD And speaking of languages, I checked out Duolingo like you suggested on your blog, and I'm learning Danish right now. (-: Thanks for the suggestion.

  6. First of all, I think you need a big round of applause for FINALS WEEK. While I myself have not directly experienced this, it sounds like torture, so I commend you and completely understand your lack of blog posts. All that said, we as your humble readers are glad you're back! :D
As for which book you should start next... THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO DOUBT IN MY MIND. Cress. all. the. way. Freakin loved that book!!!!! It was actually my favorite book out of the series, so, you know... not that I'm biased or anything... ;)

  8. YAAAY THAT YOU'RE BACK!! *flails* And you have excellent taste in music and books, omg. Splintered. I VOTE SPLINTERED. I found it quite slow to get through just because the writing is sooo detailed, not because the story is slow. xD I was just trying to digest it all! heh. Zomg though I love Insurgent and Rick Riordan and also that cover of Cress is AMAZING. I think it might be better than the US/UK one! *wishes was born in France*
